BloomBear ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application and smart plant pot hardware (collectively, the "Service") collect, use, and disclose your information. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: When you sign in using Google, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture to create and authenticate your user profile.
  • Plant Data: We collect the specific settings you create for your plants, including plant nicknames, species types, and care preferences.

B. Information Collected via Hardware

  • Sensor Data: The BloomBear smart pot collects environmental data including light levels, soil moisture, temperature, and humidity. This data is transmitted to our database to allow you to monitor your plant's health remotely.
  • Wi-Fi Credentials: To connect your smart pot to the internet, you enter Wi-Fi network credentials (SSID and password) into the app. We do not store Wi-Fi passwords on our cloud servers. These credentials are transmitted directly from your mobile device to the plant pot via Bluetooth and are stored locally on the plant pot hardware only.

3. Device Permissions

  • Bluetooth: We require Bluetooth permissions to locate and connect to your BloomBear smart pot during the initial setup process.
  • Location Services: On certain versions of the Android operating system, Bluetooth scanning technically requires Location permission. We use this strictly for Bluetooth connectivity purposes; we do not track, store, or share your GPS location.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • Authenticate your identity via Google Sign-In.
  • Monitor the health of your plants and provide real-time updates.
  • Send you push notifications regarding your plant's status (e.g., watering alerts).

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party service providers solely to facilitate our Service:

  • Supabase: We use Supabase to host our database and securely store user and sensor data.
  • Google Auth: We use Google's authentication services to verify your identity.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data and plant history for as long as your account is active.

Your Right to Delete

You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can initiate this process directly within the mobile application by navigating to Settings > Delete Account. Alternatively, you may contact us at admin@bloom-pots.com to request deletion. Upon request, we will permanently delete your personal information and sensor history from our database.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
